Heistercamp
LLP has a long association with the leather goods trade,
going back some 130 years starting with Nigel Heistercamp's
Great Grandfather who was a cobbler in Belgium.
His Grandfather
manufactured handbags in Buckinghamshire and was joined
by Nigel's father, who later went on to own a saddlers
and leather goods shop. This is where Nigel learnt his
trade. In 1990, Nigel's father retired
and Nigel took the opportunity to branch out on his own
and formed Aries leather, which not only carried out leather
goods repairs for the trade, but also produced handmade
leather belts.
In 2007 the repairs business was
sold so that his full attention could be applied to expand
the range of handmade leather belts that he made, and he
now trades under the name Heistercamp LLP. Now
based on their farm in the beautiful Devon countryside,
and joined by his wife Alaine, they work in an idyllic
location overlooking the surrounding farmland.
Traditional methods are used which
allows them to produce a leather belt, which is not only
rich in character and quality, but, because of the nature
of leather, are individual, making them unique and something
that will give years of pleasure. All of their custom
leather belts are cut from the very best full-grained vegetable
tanned leather butt hides (approximately 4mm in thickness),
sourced from the U.K. and offered in a range of colours
and styles. There is also a choice of buckle
styles and finishes. |
